Picture of Dr. Rami Turner

After suffering a disability myself, I really had no choice.

In search of help for my own rare autoimmune condition, I found many things that were beneficial. But in some cases they are taboo or stigmatized. During that search, I discovered that cannabis has a true value in obtaining better health for many people.  After becoming a doctor who listens to her patients, I cannot justify withholding cannabis from those who need it.

How do we work with cannabis patients:

man speaking to doctor image on phone on telehealth visit.

In-person, or telehealth?

We can proceed with in-person appointments, which are preferred if you live in or near the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Or we can have a telehealth visit if you are unable to come to the clinic.

We also perform ordinary primary medical care such as annual check-ups, managing diabetes or high blood pressure, treating colds or flu, prescribing medications, etc. Contact us if you need a primary care doctor.

Appointment prices

Cannabis Appointment Prices

You can contact your insurance company to see if they will cover the cost of a cannabis appointment. But as far as we know, there are no health insurance plans which provide coverage for such an appointment. Also, due to IRS regulations, payment using an HSA account is not allowed.

First time establishment of care with clinic:

$150.00

This appointment involves screening for conditions and/or retrieving medical records to confirm a qualifying condition. This appointment can be telemedicine, but in-person is preferred if possible.

Readjustment of dose in first 6 weeks:

FREE

This is an appointment for first time patients for help adjusting their dose. This appointment is usually telemedicine.

Return patients for renewal of prescription:

$99.00

For your first appointment, the doctor will write out a prescription that should last for 6 months. When that first prescription is about to run out, the renewal appointment will be for a prescription that will last for 12 months. This appointment can be telemedicine, if desired.

Telehealth appointment for patients already established in our clinic:

$75.00

We are indeed a family medicine clinic in Keller, TX.  If you are already an established patient in our clinic, we can offer you a telehealth appointment at a discount because we are already familiar with you and your medical background. Since your insurance will not pay for this appointment, it must be kept separate from your standard medical appointments.  (This is for a telehealth appointment only, an in-person cannabis evaluation

appointment is $150.00.)

The first order is the most important: You will want to call them if you have questions about their different products. They will verify your prescription in CURT. You can order the medicine in increments of one month, or the entire prescription all at once, or whatever you choose. Then you'll arrange a date & time & place to pick up your prescription.

In certain cases, depending on your specific situation, there might be direct delivery options. But it is more common that you will need to drive to a prearranged pick up location.  Pick up days vary - larger metropolitan areas offer 3 or more days per week, while smaller towns may have only one pick up day per week.

A Little About How We Came to Be

We Prescribe Cannabis but We also are a Family Medicine Clinic

You can visit our webpage at ramiturner.com for more information on our services for people who just need a doctor who is also cannabis friendly.

I finished my residency to become a Family Medicine doctor in 2015 and by 2019, I was disabled!

There is no telling what was the final straw.  Maybe it was the TDAP vaccine.  Maybe it was the cognitive dissonance of hustling patients out the door with minimal care due to corporate limitations. May it was previous trauma and stress in my life, or maybe it was just going to happen.  We all get something.

But here's the deal....

I went to medical school because, over and over again, I would go to a doctor only to be rushed out.  I felt that my issues were not even "on hold", but simply dismissed.  I wanted to be different.  I wanted to be a doctor who pays attention to the patient.  After all, we see what happens in some cases when a patient is not heard.  I am disabled for life unless I find a cure for autoimmune disease.

So to pursue MY purpose in life, I had to open a clinic on my terms.

First of all, I can't see tons of patients. My body will wear out but I can see 3-4 and sometimes five patients in a day.  I have a wonderful nurse practitioner that works with me.  She can't prescribe cannabis but she can get you prepared for your appointment and even make a diagnosis in some cases so that you don't have to send medical records every time to "prove" your eligibility if you do need cannabis.  Between the two of us, we have the ability to allow me to take extra time with difficult cases and still be there for Mary Jo to help her continue the course.

So now we are a year into this.

We have survived the most difficult year, the first year, and we are still here ready to move forward to see more of you.  We also focus on weight loss, hormonal imbalances, general medicine, and much more.  Call us or click the link above to go to our appointment site, or you can visit my other website at ramiturner.com
