There's much to see here. So, take your time, look around, and learn all there is to know about us. We hope you enjoy our site and take a moment to drop us a line.
1. Make the appointment. Once you make the appointment, we will collect from you the necessary information to either verify a diagnosis or determine if you can be diagnosed by Dr. Turner. Sometimes this can over the phone and sometimes, this needs to be done in person. Since we have a clinic open, you have an opportunity to get additional care when you come to the clinic and we do offer full Family Medicine care here.
2. If you do qualify, you will get a prescription sent to the COMPASSIONATE USE REGISTRATION OF TEXAS also known as CURT. You will be given instructions on how to use the medication but if you forget- watch my videos, or just call me and I will help you out.
3. You should now go online to either tx.goodblend.com or texasoriginal.com to determine what you need to get based on our discussion about your prescription. Many times, I do recommend RSO which is only available with texasoriginal.com but it may not matter to you in either case.
4. You can order the medication on the dispensary site. Make sure you have picked a time and location that works for you. You should know that every single day they distribute this medication across the state, they get up early in the morning in Austin and drive to the pickup locations, so you will need to be prepared to wait at least one day barring holidays and weekends. If your product is not picked up, they take it back to Austin that night.
Remember that the first time you take your medication, I recommend a smaller amount to see how you do. Every once in a while, someone is very sensitive to the medication and a smaller dose is sufficient for them or rarely, someone feels bad on the medication and we sure don't want that to last too long. CBD really does help for this and also for helping the medication work better so don't forget to take the CBD with THC (unless you have trouble with sleeping...THC will make you sleepy - don't drive sleepy or high please.
Be sure to call if you have any difficulties or questions.
Why do I do this?
Medicine comes in many forms:
laughter, food, relationships and plants, etc.
Getting well in our whole body requires that we have the best quality of life that is possible. I know that cannabis has helped many people with these conditions and I wish to make sure that no one suffers needlessly or that they have legal problems simply because the only medication that helps them happens to be so regulated.
If there was anything I could do to convey what it takes to really get well, and help my patients to do that and not be dependent on a drug of any kind for the rest of their life, I would be satisfied.
These effects are somewhat outdated already. The studies are few but getting bigger, Please review the most recent studies. Even today, we are doubting that cannabis is really a culprit in psychosis. I mean what if your psychosis is FROM PTSD? Or you obtained cannabis from an untrusted source that laced your cannabis with ????. I've seen this in real life - not cool.
If you feel that you should qualify but you aren't on the list, call your representatives in Texas. For example, chronic pain passed the house almost unanimously but it was not even brought to the Texas Senate for a vote in 2023. It's 2025 coming up in a few months and congress will try again. We know it helps pain, I have too many patients willing to get fired from the clinic (for "illicit marijuana" in their drug test, who then treat themselves illegally with marijuana from who knows where. That is why I am afraid for a situation where a person "thinks" they are buying marijuana for their pain only to discover there is Phentanyl laced into the "product". I have a misrepresented marijuana case where the person was permanently psychotic. They had a twin who also smoked marijuana but not this time. She was normal.
Here it is again. Plus, we have these instructions in written form on the website too.
Here is how to avoid getting cognitive problems or becoming tolerant to the medication. You can always wall if you have any issues. I am here to help you.
